Founder, CEO and lead creative, Daniel “dAnOmite” Downey began his advertising career in 1999 with a mid-sized Long Beach agency. Parlaying a knack for copywriting and in-depth and sometimes unorthodox research, dAn has maintained a long and storied arc, writing copy and editing content for traditional and new media platforms across the globe.
A digital native, dAn was exposed to programming language in the Silicone Valley from an early age. He has pursued all things digital since then, developing and thoroughly understanding relational databases, content management protocols and, now, decentralized data systems. He finds magic at the intersection of technology (ie: robots) and humans, embracing the complexities of paid content and social advertising and crafting creative and copy which is simultaneously discoverable (optimized) and a pleasure to explore.
His earliest educational and career experiences revolved around art and design, with a focus on production arts, block-printing and screen-printing. He has a trained eye for design and a unique knack for color which proves ready translation to print and digital collateral. Discovering that amidst his artistic output he often found himself writing at length, he changed his primary focus to letters, eventually graduating with highest honors from California State University Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Literature (and an emphasis in Classical Languages – Greek and Latin). Journalist, author and editor, dAn prides himself on clean, cleverly constructed copy which always builds towards objectives and brand initiatives.
